What is Luminas?
Luminas is a private astrology journal for iPhone and iPad. You can reflect on a daily question, write freely, add an optional mood, and revisit your entries. Your natal chart and the current sky can add context to the practice.
How do chart-aware journal prompts work?
Luminas offers one reflective question each day. Available chart and sky context can shape the question and its astrology anchor. A curated question keeps writing available when live context is unavailable. Prompts can be shared by different users; you can also set the question aside and write freely.
Is my journal private?
Your entries are private to your account and stored in Luminas. You choose whether each entry contributes to personal themes and confirmed patterns. Excluding an entry from patterns does not delete it or remove it from your journal and personal totals. See the Privacy Policy for storage, processing, and provider details.
What creates Insights?
Insights include writing rhythm, mood mix, and themes from your entries. A scheduled weekly detector surfaces confirmed patterns only when enough eligible writing meets its recurrence rules. Pattern naming may use AI with a template fallback. Insights are reflective context, not evidence that planetary movements cause a mood or event.
Can I journal without an exact birth time?
Yes. During setup you can mark your birth time as unknown. You can still write freely and use reflective questions. Rising-sign and house interpretations depend on birth time, so avoid treating an estimated chart as exact.
Does Luminas use AI?
Some chart interpretations and pattern naming use AI. Daily questions may come from a curated library, and writing freely does not require a generated question. Voice transcription may use speech-recognition services. The Privacy Policy explains which data reaches providers; astrology and AI output are for reflection and entertainment.
Can I export my journal?
Yes. In the app, open Settings, then Data & Export to export your journal as JSON or Markdown. Export before deleting your account if you want to keep a copy. Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate actions.

Common Questions
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions. Find Luminas and tap Cancel Subscription. You'll continue to have access until the end of your current billing period.
How do I restore my purchases?
Open Luminas and tap Restore Purchases on the paywall, or tap your avatar to open Settings, then go to Subscription and tap Restore Purchases. This will sync any active subscription with your Apple ID.
Why is my birth chart different from other apps?
Luminas uses precise astronomical calculations for planetary positions. Small differences can arise from the house system used (Luminas supports Whole Sign and Equal houses) or the exactness of your birth time. For the most accurate chart, enter your birth time as precisely as possible.
How do I delete my account?
In Luminas, tap your avatar to open Settings, then go to Data & Export and tap Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data from our systems, including your profile, journal entries, mood logs, chart data, and Connections. This action cannot be undone — you can export your journal as JSON or Markdown from the same screen first.
I'm not receiving push notifications
Make sure notifications are enabled for Luminas in your iPhone's Settings > Notifications > Luminas. In the app, tap your avatar to open Settings, then check that notifications are turned on under Notifications.
